The Koi That Swims the Stars

A surrealist digital illustration in a vertical frame, seen from a dramatic low angle looking up: a giant ornamental koi, forty meters long, swims through a dreamy cosmic nebula as if through water. Its scales shimmer in gradients of coral orange, pearl white and gold, each scale rimmed with nebula light, and its long translucent fins trail like silk veils studded with tiny stars. The koi curves in a majestic arc across the upper two-thirds of the frame, head tilted down, one great gentle eye gazing at the tiny human figure far below. Around it drift colorful nebula clouds in violet, teal and rose, sparkling bubbles that hold miniature galaxies, and soft stardust motes. At the very bottom center stands the small silhouetted figure of a lone traveler, back to the viewer, head raised in calm wonder, standing on a dark reflective plane that mirrors the nebula like still water. Foreground: the reflective plane and rising bubbles; midground: the solitary figure; background: the koi and the infinite starfield. The size contrast is overwhelming and tender at once, the atmosphere ethereal and dreamlike, luminous rim light tracing the koi's scales and the figure's outline, painterly detail with a polished, high-resolution illustration finish. The illustration's tenderness is built from contrast handled gently: the koi's immense scale never threatens, its eye is soft and curious, and the traveler below stands relaxed rather than dwarfed in fear. Craft shows in the details: each scale carries its own gradient and rim of starlight, the fins' translucency layers like real silk in water, the bubbles refract tiny inverted nebulae, and the reflective plane answers every color above it in muted mirror. The vertical composition leads the eye in a slow circle from figure to koi and back, and the mood is the quiet awe of being noticed by something vast and kind.
